We began day 8 of ASED with breakfast at the Moosilauke Ravine Lodge, then packed up our bags and left after saying goodbye to our newly befriended cabin mates. On the way back to Dartmouth campus, we detoured through Franconia Notch State Park and hiked around at the Basin Cascade trailhead. The next stop was Super Secret Ice Cream in Bethlehem, where the team shared two scoops of each flavor. In total, seven of us consumed twenty-four scoops in seventeen minutes. When we returned to campus around noon, we quickly got to work analyzing our data sets in the Kresge library. The soils team began unpacking sieving their samples and the tree analysis team began digitizing their data. At 6:00PM, we took a break and enjoyed a celebratory dinner with Indian food and met with current Dartmouth students to discuss their adventures in field sciences. After that, we met with Zig, and she shared the results of her maple syrup contamination research.
