Today the ASED group explored the Dartmouth Organic Farm. We had the opportunity to learn all about maple syrup -- Zig discussed how it is produced and hypothesized possible factors that might cause variation in the grades of different maple syrups. Additionally, we had a workshop about soil led by Natalie, in which we learned about soil profiles and layers and also collected and analyzed our own samples of soil. 

In the evening, Jeff Kerby described his captivating research and adventures in Greenland. These stories included collecting footage of glacial calving, having a polar bear break into his room, and even documenting the northernmost plant and mammal in the world. 

We had an exciting Day 2 of ASED and are ready for tomorrow's hike at Mt. Cardigan!
