CAS PROJECT
As part of CAS, Students must plan and perform a CAS Project.
The CAS Project must:
Be collaborative
Last at least one month
Have reflections on each of the 5 stages

It’s similar to a CAS Experience
It can be Creativity, Activity or Service
It must last at least a month
It must be collaborative
It must cover the 5 stages

WHEN TO DO THE CAS PROJECT?
You can do it at any time, but...
We recommend that you do it in grade 11
Semester 1 - start planning
Investigation & Preparation stages
Semester 2 - do the project
Action, Demonstration & Reflection stages
CAN MANY STUDENTS HAVE THE SAME CAS PROJECT?
Yes
But each student should have separate responsibilities
You can also work with people out of school
MUST THE CAS PROJECT INCLUDE SERVICE?
No
You can use any strand (or many)
Creativity
Activity
Service
WHO APPROVES THE CAS PROJECT?
Your homeroom teacher
Your CAS Coordinator
HOW TO PLAN THE CAS PROJECT?
1. When planning, start by answering the following questions:
What needs are you fulfilling by completing this project?
How is your project going to influence or affect people?
Why are you the person to carry out this project?
Are there any risks or ethical issues you need to consider?
How is this project going to challenge you beyond a ‘normal’ CAS experience?
How are you going to share or demonstrate the outcome of your project to others?
2. Spend time on the two following stages:
Investigation
Investigate your idea
Conduct background research
Identify your personal goals
In the case of service, identify a need or problem to address
Preparation
Clarify roles and responsibilities
Develop a plan of action steps
List specific resources and timelines
Keep tracking of all the planning.
