DU Technique classes
Minis, Juniors, Teens, and Seniors - must be enrolled in Ballet, Jazz, Tap, and Hip-Hop classes to accommodate their own personal skill level.
**Attendance in technique classes is required for all Vibe dancers.
If a dancer misses more than allowed classes, they must make up in a lower-level class in the same style of the class missed (ie. Jazz for Jazz, Ballet for Ballet, etc).
Each team member will be given a specific number of “FREE” Make up passes for Fall and Spring. This number will be determined after Fall/Spring Dance schedule is released.
A record of attendance and make-ups due will remain in the Vibe Google Drive for dancers to access as needed. All absences must be made up within one month of the missed class.
Other ways to make up missed classes:
Attend additional technique class.
Write down their choreography, Choreography notes must be turned in within 2 weeks of learning a number in order to be eligible for rehearsal and/or “free make-ups”
Write down competition critiques. Must be completed within one week of receiving critiques.
Attend master class(es).
**Dancers who sit out regularly from classes or for an extended time will need a medical restriction form filled out by their doctor by the 2nd time they sit out of the same style of class. These forms are available at the front desk. Dancers with serious injuries that require sitting out during competition weeks must forfeit their right to compete.
***Competition Week - Vibe members are required to be present and participating in ALL technique classes and rehearsals the weekend and weekdays leading into a competition and/or performance weekend. Wednesday is hard deadline for illness and injury.
Masterclasses - We are very fortunate to bring in Guest Teachers throughout the year! Vibe dancers are required to attend all in-studio master classes with guest artists brought to DU.
