What are Dance Conventions? 

ALL members of the Vibe Dance Company will be required to attend two dance conventions as a group. We will be traveling for both.  **Dates are not yet released for these events.

Dance conventions are an incredible opportunity for our dancers to expand their horizons and take their training to the next level! These events allow dancers to meet and connect with other passionate dancers from across the country, while learning from world-class choreographers and teachers in a variety of dance styles. Typically held over a weekend, conventions offer an intense, immersive experience with approximately 7 hours a day of classes in everything from contemporary to jazz, ballet to hip hop, tap, ballroom and more. These conventions not only provide a chance to learn new skills in new spaces but also help our dancers build confidence, improve their technique, and push their limits. We are proud to offer these amazing opportunities to our company members and watch them grow both as dancers and as individuals!

Vibe Dance Co. 2026 Conventions! 

• Revel Convention in Dallas, TX. | Jan. 23-25

• DanceMakers Convention in Tulsa, OK | Feb. 13-15

We will be competing certain numbers, as selected by faculty at each convention, and all numbers at the 3 local competitions. **Dates have not been released for these events, but our plan is to compete Jan-March 2026. (Possible Fall Convention)

Mini and Junior Vibe Members must be present to watch and support all the Mini and Junior Vibe Routines. Teen/Senior VIBE buddies may be asked to be in attendance as well.

The only exception to this is rule is if competition lies during school day hours - we do not require dancers to leave school early to come support. However, dancers may be required to leave school early on a Friday if they compete that day. Most, if not all competitions begin Friday monrings. 

What are Dance Competitions? 

At Vibe Dance Co., dance competitions are a key part of our journey, providing our dancers with the opportunity to showcase their hard work, talent, and dedication on stage. We compete in a variety of categories across different age groups, with teams for Mini, Junior, Teen, and Senior dancers. Our dancers perform in a wide range of routines, including solos, duos, trios, small groups, large groups, lines, and even full productions! 

The competition season requires countless hours of rehearsal, as we prepare meticulously for each performance. Choreography is often learned over the summer or at the start of the fall session, with specific rehearsal schedules to ensure each dancer is ready for the stage. Competing allows our dancers to challenge themselves, build teamwork, and gain invaluable stage experience, all while having fun and growing in their craft!

Rehearsal Process! 

Every year, rehearsal days and times may differ. Below you will see the rehearsal hours for our 2024-2025 season. This may be different for the 2025-2026 season! New rehearsal dates will be released when available. 

• Minis rehearsed on Thursdays 4:30-6:00pm

• Juniors rehearsed on Thursdays 7:30-9pm & Fridays 4:30-7:30pm

• Teens rehearsed on Fridays 4:30-7:30pm & Sundays 5:30-8:30pm

• Seniors rehearsed on Wednesdays 5-9pm & Sundays 5:30-8:30pm

All group numbers will perform in Aftershow. Senior Vibe Dance Company members will choose 1 solo to perform in Aftershow.  

If Senior has duo this is also allowed.

What is Aftershow? 

The Aftershow is a special celebration that marks the culmination of a year’s hard work and dedication at Vibe Dance Co. It’s a heartfelt showcase where families, friends, and potential future Vibe Dance Co. members are invited to take a seat and enjoy the incredible performances from our dancers. This event includes all of the Vibe Dance Co. group dances, as well as few solos, duos, and trios, with a special spotlight on our graduating seniors as they perform for the final time with Vibe Dance Co. In addition, we’ll feature exciting hip hop routines from Dance Unlimited’s hip hop program, creating a diverse and dynamic performance. The Aftershow is a perfect way to wrap up our season, cherishing the hard work, growth, and memories we’ve shared together. 

The evening concludes with our traditional “We Are Family” performance, uniting the entire Vibe Tribe and all Dance Unlimited graduating seniors in a powerful moment of unity and gratitude. It’s a memorable way to thank our dancers for another amazing year and to celebrate the bonds that make us a true family.
