The AIS library media center is open to students and staff from 9 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.
Students and staff use OPALS to locate and checkout materials.
Our collection of carefully selected materials is based on input from students and staff, with an emphasis on representation as well as supporting our international studies, peacekeeping, and technology themes.

Danbury Public Schools media programs produce college and career-ready students who are responsible digital citizens able to collaborate and leverage technologies to construct knowledge, communicate clearly, and express themselves creatively. Students become lifetime learners who critically consume information, use reason to solve problems, and read for a variety of purposes.
DANBURY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL MEDIA MISSION STATEMENT
In each elementary school, Danbury Public Schools Elementary Media Specialists:
teach K-5 students based on the goals of the American Association of School Librarians “to empower students to be critical thinkers, enthusiastic readers, skillful researchers, and ethical users of information.”
administer and manage a high circulation Elementary Library Media Center.
create a welcoming space for learning, collaboration, and productivity.
ensure equitable access to digital and print resources, information and tools.
coach and support students and staff in the effective use of digital devices to navigate, evaluate, and create information.
lead elementary students to understand, stay safe, and work well in the digital world.
