Black History Month begins this week and we are ready to learn and celebrate how Black History has shaped our world. As we enter this month of celebration, we look forward to highlighting so many amazing people in our community and beyond! Tuesday is our IN-PERSON SBDM meeting @5:30 in the makerspace. Join us as we analyze key components of our model and determine the strengths and opportunities for growth as a campus. Dress Donations
Drop gently used dresses into the uniform donation bins outside the school to provide a sweet experience for every scholar to have a new dress before the Sweetheart Dance! Distribution volunteers are needed. Sign up here to volunteer (must be Voly-approved) to help scholars pick out their dresses.
KINDNESS WEEK FEB. 10-15
Kindness Week is next week, and we need your help! All week, we celebrate and cultivate kindness, love, and care – for ourselves and our community.
HOUSE TOILETRY DRIVE
Bring donations of new, unopened toiletries (toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant, diapers, wipes, period products, shampoo, soap, etc.) and place them in your House box at the school entrance. These donations go directly to our Solar Peace Pantry. The winning house will win an extra free dress day!
Show your Solar Spirit
Dress up with us! Spirit days enforce that we all belong and our differences and diversity make us stronger. Visit the PTA site to learn more.
Sweetheart Dance
Bring your favorite sweetheart(s) to Solar on Saturday for a dance party! Drinks, desserts and music will be provided. Tickets are $5 for students and $15 for adults. We are also in need of volunteers to help make this dance a success. If you are able to donate your time, please sign-up here!

Volunteers Needed!
The Solar Peace Pantry is looking for volunteers with all different skills and schedules, but particularly, we are in need of volunteers who are available on Thursdays from 3:30 to 4:30 (without kids with them) to staff the pantry during our busiest shift!
It's a tricky time slot for many parents so if you're one of the rare people available and childless then, please send me an email! -- samantha.murphey@gmail.com
