The Dallas Independent School District is looking forward to the 2020-21 school year and beyond in planning and preparing for the future of our students. We are committed to do everything we can to reopen our campuses as we believe that doing so is in the best interests of our students, families, and communities. And yet, we recognize that Dallas ISD needs to find a variety of options for reopening campuses safely with the health and well-being of our entire community in mind.

Superintendent Hinojosa on Aug. 20 announced that after consulting with his senior leadership & county health officials, the district will open with 100% distance learning when school starts Sept. 8. Distance learning continues through at least Oct. 6.
The decision reflects the guidance provided by Dallas County Health and Human Services. In addition, all extracurricular activities will remain in a distance setting as well, including strength and conditioning, band and drill team, all UIL and visual and performing arts activities.
