We believe…
The engine of our instructional program is the belief that only by frequently and deeply analyzing students’ best work will we learn how to teach our content in ways that lead to students’ mastery. We monitor the pulse of student learning by tracking mastery of SE’s based on DOL’s/weekly assessments: weekly data meetings, six week district common assessment, ACP, adaptive software data (ISIP in Kinder - 2nd; Achieve 3000 in 3rd - 5th), 2nd semester practice of state exams and yearly state exams. We insist that students show us they thinking and we will study their work in data meetings in order to gain insights and quickly adjust our instruction so we can close gaps faster. The goal is that every student MASTERS their grade level! Better yet, that we become an Accomplished Campus - meaning that we are accomplished in pushing students to attain their academic goals.
Dallas ISD is making enhancements and improvements to required assessments for the 2020-2021 school year. In the absence of spring summative data, it is critical that teachers and campuses have valid and reliable formative student assessment data measuring both absolute performance and growth.
Many programs rely on the Spring STAAR results for selection or placement criteria. The beginning of year (BOY) MAP scores will be made available for these programs. The BOY MAP will have secure testing protocols for Grades 1-11 as a one-time event due to COVID-19.
