Students are allowed to redo tests and assignments for the opportunity to earn up to a maximum of 70% credit. All redone work must be completed and submitted within one week of receiving the original grade.
Students will receive assignments on a weekly basis, with all work due by the end of the day each Friday. Assignments will be written in student planners every Monday to help with organization and planning. Class time will be provided during independent work periods for students to complete their assignments.
We recognize that our scholars often have busy schedules with extracurricular activities. As such, students are not assigned regular homework. We ask that students use their time at school effectively to complete their work and refrain from doing class assignments at home.
Please make a habit of checking your child’s planner—especially during weeks when you know your family has a busy schedule. Staying informed will help ensure that assignments are completed on time.
If a student needs additional time, they may request an extension and will have until the beginning of class the following Monday to submit the assignment without penalty.
Assignments turned in after the start of class on Monday, it will be considered late and will result in:
A reset ticket
A 10-point deduction from the final grade
ACADEMY
Every Thursday during recess, students will have the opportunity to catch up on assignments they anticipate not completing by Friday. This time may also be used to:
Complete missing work due to illness or vacation
Improve grades on past assignments
This dedicated work period is meant to support students in managing their workload and maintaining academic success. Academy is completely optional and not required.
