On 8th August 2018, the seven - members delegate team led by Professor Dr. Yousuf M Islam, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of Daffodil International University, participated in the pre-scheduled meeting at Global Open Access Learning System (GOALS), which has been established for conducting maintenance and research work on Blended Learning approach in USIM.
DIU team was warmly welcomed by Prof. Dr. Rozhan, Dr. Nurkhamimi and the GOALS team at USIM. The main purpose of this meeting was to follow up on the Training session that was held at DIU conducted by Prof. Dr. Rozhan and Dr. Nurkhamimi on 16th April 2018 till 20th April 2018. They discussed about the present condition of Blended Learning in DIU and what can be the possible solutions for the issues in hand.
They also demonstrated how they control their blended learning platforms and what initiatives DIU can implement to ensure proper implementation of Blended Learning. They also showcased the new techs they are adapting in their classroom to ensure better blend. One of the most interesting tech was Swivl which is a great tool for automated video capturing.
Whether a Blended Learning Course can be developed for English I was discussed. How they have achieved minimum 30% blend in their courses is guided by the Blended Learning Rubric as shown in the presentation.
Finally, Prof. Rozhan discussed about the template that he provided and ways that it can be implemented in DIU. Also he has shown interest to work with Blended Learning Center, DIU to make the concept of blended learning more graspable.
