The keynote paper starts with looking at the efforts made towards improving/inculcating soft-skills since the 1980s. The Malaysian universities have also introduced various modules as well as tried to integrate soft-skills as part of the regular 4-year degree study. Despite all these efforts employers still find it hard to find the required soft-skills in their recruits. Linking the soft-skill requirement to person skills, the keynote presents a new model knowing self, knowing how the brain works and how a teacher should address the student brain for developing soft-skills. The model is derived from Verses from the Al-Qur'an while giving references to the actual verses.
