Welcome to Digital Art! I am looking forward to working with each of you this semester and helping you tap into your creativity. While using a digital illustration application students will learn how to use a wide range of different tools to facilitate the design process by exploring a varitety of techniques, developing ideas, and producing finished pieces of art for a digital portfolio. Students will be introduced to the principles and elements of design and learn how to apply them in the creative process. One point perspective in architecture rendering, patterns, potraits, illustrative photography and recreation of traditional art mediums in a digital format are a only few of the areas that will be covered in this semester long class . This course is designed to take students to a higher level in the creative process of creating works of art.
I DO NOT offer EXTRA CREDIT in this class. If your child does the work I assign on time and participates in class, he/she will not need to have extra credit. Grades are based on the portfolio that your child creates throughout the class. Points are assigned for each assignment.
The students will be using applications that are only available on the technolgy equipment at school. If your child needs addition time to complete an assignment they can sign out a device and work afterschool in SOS on Tuesdays and Thursdays and take the activity bus if needed. Your child will need to schedule a time in advance for additional help with me afterschool in the computer lab or SOS.
I rarely send homework due to the nature of the class. I provide the students with ample time to complete their projects in class, if they use their time wisely therefore I don't offer extra credit.
If you have any questions or concerns throughout the semester please do not hesitate to contact me. The best method is via email at hkunselman@d92.org.
