Introduction to Technology I
Welcome to Technology I! I am looking forward to working with each of you in the upcoming nine weeks. This class is designed to incorporate a great deal of hands-on experiences, which I am sure you will enjoy. Some of your time will be spent on Internet Research (with a significant emphasis on Internet Safety) Microsoft PowerPoint, and an introduction to Microsoft Word. In addition, you will be utilizing iMovie and a variety of applications to deepen your understanding in becoming responsible digital citizens. The supplies below are required for this class.

Class Rules
1. You are expected to arrive ON TIME for my class and be ready to learn.
2. When you arrive each day for class, sit down in your assigned seat, and place ALL of your personal belongings except your pencil and folder in the space under your chair.
4. Report any damage/problems to your computer to me immediately.
5. Check the board for your class activity and begin working as soon as your can. I will come around and check progress.
6. Do NOT leave your seat unless I ask you to or unless you need to get a printout for an assignment. If you have a question or need help, raise your hand and I will come to you.
7. When you are leaving, be sure that you clean up your work area and push in your chair. Your area should be as clean, or cleaner than when you arrived!
8. If you are absent, it is YOUR responsibility to get missed work from me.
9. If you miss a test, it is YOUR responsibility to schedule a makeup test within 2 days time.
10. DO NOT TOUCH any other student’s computer, keyboard, mouse, books, folders, or audio device.
11. You may NOT go online without my permission, you are NEVER allowed to be in an online chat area, writing, or reading email.
I DO NOT offer EXTRA CREDIT. If you do the work I assign and participate in class, you will not need to have extra credit. Grades are based on the portfolio that you create throughout the class. Points are assigned for each assignment, quiz, and final project. (See Oak Prairie's grading catagories for the summative and formative standard's assessments on syllabus.)
Respect the teacher, other students, school property, and yourself. I will not tolerate any student who does not respect another person’s right to be treated properly. Part of growing up is learning how to respect one another for what we are. Accept this challenge and we will get along great in this class. This is a beautiful facility and provides an excellent atmosphere for learning. Let’s keep it that way and show others we are able to handle this responsibility as we grow together in the learning process.
I am here before and after school if you have questions or need help.
