Only one person said they hated soup out of the 48 total responses to this poll. I say that's a pretty great feat. Interestingly enough, a lot of poll respondents have complicated relationships with soup, with 31.3% of people saying they have some love-hate rivalry going on with the captivating elixir of soup. Well, at least 21 people said that they enjoy it.
For almost half of respondents, soup seems to be a favorable food year- round! A quarter of people believe that soup is only for cold weather... You guys are on thin ice.
I have been informed that I did not include minestrone on here and, for that, I am deeply sorry for all my minestrone super fans. In other news, WOW! Miso soup is tearing it up out here with a whopping 11 votes. Can't say I blame you guys. That stuff is good. Chicken noodle and vegetable soup nearly tied for second place, and clam chowder and chicken tortilla soup seem to also be favorites among respondents.
Broth-based soup enjoyers make up 41.7% of all respondents. I'm a little shocked at the amount of people who don't mind eating whatever consistency of soup. You go, guys, for being inclusive. I'm personally part of the chunky soup lovers myself, which make up only 20.8% of respondents!
Now, here's the controversial poll question for the month... is soup a beverage? According to poll respondents, 47.9% say that soup is not a beverage! Interesting...There's a chaotic smaller duo, with 8.3% of people saying it is a beverage and 8.3% saying they are neutral on the subject. The second most dominating response belongs to those who I sent into an existential crisis with this question-- sorry!
