Harris Beach is a great place to visit amongst the many beaches along the Oregon coast. There is a year-round camping area, tide pools, large rocks to climb on, a hiking trail, a viewpoint, and gorgeous wildlife like gray whales and tufted puffins. This beach is popular and can be busy at most points. It is calming in the summertime, with an average of 60 degrees F and is, overall, a great area!

For anyone who likes collecting crystals and rocks, this is the place to stop by, with a selection of many different types of rocks, jewelry, gifts, and so much more. Crystal Kaleidoscope includes an outside area with a selection of larger rocks, impressive displays all around the store, almost every rock thinkable and a kind and helpful staff to assist.
Rogue-Umpqua Scenic Byway in Prospect, OR 97536
One place in Oregon to get out in nature is the Rogue River Gorge. This is the main viewpoint of the 80-mile-long gorge. A trail and view of the Rogue River carves through rock for miles. There is a parking lot and restrooms that leads to the trail. Formed by lava tubes of the volcanic eruption of Mt.Mazama 7,700 years ago. The wildlife around the area is lovely, as well.

Founded in 1935, the Oregon Shakespeare Festival (OSF) is inspired by Shakespeare's work, welcoming everyone to come see plays. There are two inside auditorium stages and an outside performing area, as well. Plays like As You Like It, Peter and the Starcatcher, The Tempest and more have been performed there at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. There are different activities and events throughout the season, from April to December of 2022. The theatre shows Shakespeare's work, along with musicals, classics and world-premier plays. The globe theatre is a magical place to watch plays and entertaining acting.

West Coast Game Park is a zoo along the coast, allowing visitors to get up close and feed animals, like deer and goats. Also, there are many other animals to observe and interact with. The park is open from 10 to 5 and it is Oregon's largest, totally self-supporting wildlife attraction. In all, there are 450 animals and 75 different species throughout the park, including many wild cat breeds, black bears, emus, foxes and more. Overall, there is much to see and learn from the educated and generous staff.

The Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm & Vineyard has 40 acres of glorious tulip fields, outdoor activities and a festival in the spring. There are 100 varieties of tulips in the fields to roam through. This is a top spring attraction and there are purchasable tickets online. Since 1974, tulips have been grown and this is the 38th annual tulip festival. The festival includes hot air balloon rides, lodging, a tulip market, food, a shuttle, a children's play area and more. The closing day of the festival is Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 8th of 2022. This is an ideal location for all ages to visit in Oregon.

National Creek Falls Trailhead is one of the many waterfalls in Oregon. It is a half-mile or about a 20-minute hike to the waterfall. This is the perfect environment for camping, fishing and hiking and the area is known for these activities. The gorgeous water from the springs of Mt. Mazama created the waterfall. In the early 1860s, this area was a route for miners used for traveling from the Rogue Valley to new gold mining sites. In the colder months, there is snow, and the park may be closed off. National Creek Falls is a beautiful location for a short hike.

Hiking Area in Josephine County, Oregon
Only a few minutes from downtown Grants Pass, Cathedral Hills is a local hiking area with beautiful vegetation. Open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., there are many different hiking trails to explore. Cathedral Hills consists of a 10-mile trail system, which is also good for biking, running, horseback riding and it is dog friendly. The trail system is closed to hunting and motorized vehicles and it is advised to not pick the wildflowers. Beautiful trees, wild flowers and mushrooms can be found, with a spectacular view at the top.

The Oregon Caves are a great and interesting experience. Accidently discovered by Elijah Davidson in 1874, the caves are around 3 to 5 million years old. The entrance is a stairway leading down to a colder temperature of 44 degrees F. Camping and dining is available in the area, as well as cave tours. It is around an hour-long walk, depending on the length of the tour. Many interesting formations are to be seen within the caves, like stalagmites and stalactites. The ceiling gets as low as 45 inches and is more narrow at points. The Oregon Caves are not for everyone, but this is a marvelous place to explore. Also, watch out for bats!

Lithia Park is about five minutes away from the Oregon Shakespeare festival in Ashland. Since 1983, there has been a bridge over Ashland creek, which flows throughout the park.This is a great place to sit down, eat lunch and go on a walk around the area, with numerous hiking trails to explore.There are guided nature trail tours in the summertime. The park Includes a pickle ball court, sand-pit volleyball court, a fountain, two ponds, a playground, and a Japanese garden. The park is also known to be haunted, according to accounts of paranormal activity from visitors. Lithia Park is a great park to take a walk, explore its haunted history or to just sit down and admire the beauty.
