The Harvest Ball took place on Nov. 23 and embraced a casual Western theme, promoting a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere. Due to the themed invitation, most attendees chose to wear Western attire, which enhanced the overall enjoyment of the event. Many guests mingled and danced, creating a lively social environment.
One of the standout moments of the evening was the performance of a new DJ, whose contagious enthusiasm set the tone for an unforgettable night. With his skillful mixing, he seamlessly blended a variety of upbeat tracks, creating an electric atmosphere that kept the energy soaring throughout the venue. As the night unfolded, the dance floor became a vibrant sea of movement, with students drawn in by the beats. Among the tracks he played were the catchy children's anthem "Baby Shark" by Pinkfong, which had everyone singing along, and the vibrant hip-hop hit "Fe!n" by Travis Scott, which brought a modern edge to the mix. Additionally, he infused the playlist with country favorites like "Save a Horse (Ride a Cowboy)" by Big & Rich, which encouraged line dancing and cheerful sing-alongs. The combination of energetic music and lively dancers created a joyful ambiance that made the night truly special, as laughter and excitement filled the air, and the dance floor remained packed with enthusiastic partygoers enjoying every moment.
Most attendees had a wonderful experience at the dance, enjoying both the atmosphere and the decorations. Kallie Weiss, a sophomore at GPHS, described the event as spacious and lively, allowing everyone to mingle comfortably. Weiss noted that, while she had a great time, she would prefer a different selection of music for the next dance to enhance the overall experience. Weiss’s favorite aspect of the evening was the charming light jars that illuminated the venue, as well as the creative decorations that added a magical touch to the ambiance. Similarly, Andrew Thomas, another sophomore at GPHS, shared his enthusiasm about the dance, highlighting the fantastic decorations that transformed the space into a delightful setting. He echoed Weiss’s sentiment regarding the music, suggesting that a new playlist would make the next dance even better. Andrew particularly appreciated the aesthetic appeal of the decorations, remarking on how beautiful everything looked, which contributed to the enjoyable atmosphere of the event. Both students felt that the dance was a memorable occasion, with room for improvements that could make it even more enjoyable in the future.
