Mr. Mannion is a nice gentlemen with two sons Jack and Ben. Mr. Mannion was born in Raleigh, North Carolina. He became a teacher because he loves to teach kids. For fun, this wonderful teacher spends time watching baseball. His favorite team is the Cubs. His favorite book is “Because of Mrs. Tare”. This teacher's favorite subject to teach is math. This teacher has a pet which is half Poodle and half Labrador Retriever name “Barlie”. He has been married for 16 years. His favorite food is Lou Malnati's Pizza. His favorite part about Plainfield is being a 4th teacher again.

Ms. Brown is the new second grade teacher at Plainfield and has many wonderful students and is making a change at Plainfield.

She was born in Deerfield. She’s not married. She does not have any kids or pets. This is her first year here. She went to college before she became a teacher. Something she would like best to do is a caring and welcoming environment. Her hobbies/interests are dancing, yoga, and spend time with her friends and family. The thing she looking forward to this year is meeting more students. She wants to share that she's loving her first year here at Plainfield. She is thankful this year with her student and other teachers.

Hey Plainfield! Do you know about Diwali? It’s a really fun Indian holiday also known as The Festival of Lights. This is a really special day in the Indian culture honoring a god named Rama-Chandra (the seventh avatar). It is believed that on this day Rama returned to his people after 14 years of exile during which he fought and won a battle against the Demons and the Demon King's, Ravana. Also during Diwali, Indians do deep cleaning. In addition, on Diwali day, which is on Wednesday November 7th, people turn on all the lights in their house because it is the festival of lights.

Dia de los Muertos or Day of the dead is celebrated on October 31 through November 2nd. They put a lot of decoration and candles they are so beautiful they are called Ofrendas they put flowers that are called marigold in Spanish it is called (cempasuchil). They put candy also food that are their favorite, fruit, bread and drinks. Sawdust carpet is a colorful salt sand.

When I started to read Harry Potter I was in second grade. I did not know there was a first book. So when I went to the library I got the third book then I was confused because I never read harry potter before.

So as I was reading the book it keeps talking about Hogwarts and I said to myself “Huh where are his parents?” As I said, I did not start from the first book so I didn’t know how he got to Hogwarts. I actually thought he was born at Hogwarts and his parents were in the book but they weren’t in the book at all!

As I was reading the first book, it started to tell more about the characters such as Neville, Hermione, Malfoy, Crabbe, Goyle and as well as a few others. Next, I asked myself a question which was “Where did all these people come from and how did they get there?”

Later that month, I finally finished the book. When I was done reading, a friend told me that I wasn't reading the books in the correct order. After that, I dashed to the library and asked Mr. Hanrahan for the first book. He said it was under the letter R because the authors name is Rowling.

So I found R and checked out the first book. The next day I was still reading. Then I just got really bored of reading Harry Potter. So in third grade I did the same thing then the same day I returned the book back into the library.

What is a Tornado?

A tornado is a funnel that is made by warm and cool air. When the funnel hits the floor, it is a tornado. There is this big thing that passes many states and it is called Tornado Alley. It passes many states and Chicago is right out Tornado alley but about 11 states are in Tornado alley and here are the states there is Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Colorado, Nebraska, South Dakota, Iowa, Minnesota, Michigan, and Indiana. Just because a state is not in tornado alley, doesn’t mean it is safe from Tornadoes. One of the most famous tornadoes is the 1920 supercell. It passed through Missouri southern Illinois and southern Indiana. The only states that have never witnessed a Tornado are Hawaii and Alaska.

There are many kids in Sports Club and many of them have a favorite sport. We got a total 18 votes out of the 40-50 kids in Sports Club.

After looking at the survey results, it was determined that Nacho Supreme is the favorite school lunch. Cheeseburger was the second favorite. The least favorite school lunches are Chicken Nuggets and Chicken Sandwich.

Thank you for sharing your problem, many students have a difficult time finding a quiet space to work at home. One solution is to talk to your mom or dad and see if they can find you a quiet space in the house to work. You can also try using headphones so that you don't hear your baby sister crying.
