MR. WILLIAMS SHARES ABOUT HIMSELF
On Friday September 19th, I had the chance to interview Mr. Williams, the 6th grade Social Studies Teacher, during his ninth hour class, to get a better understanding of this amazing teacher.
The first question I asked him was; how long have you been teaching? He replies with, “I’ve been teaching since 2019, this is about year 7.” I then asked him; you run the FCA club, how do you feel about that? Then he told me, “That's my favorite club I've run. I have a great leadership team, it's nice seeing students taking an after school activity”
Mr. William's was also asked what he eats for lunch. He said, “I bring my own lunch or don't eat for a day.” Then I asked a question about the 6th graders; do you think 6th graders are crazy? He responded with, “Not as crazy as the other grades. They can be wild but overall I love being around them.”
That was all of the questions I had for Mr. Williams that day, I wished him a good day, and then left his room with a new understanding for this great teacher. (Mr. Williams is in Core 6-1 and in room 92)
GT Student Explains Their Hopes For The Quarter
By: Rilynn Reigles, 8th Grade Fruita Feed Editor
GT student Rorey Reigles discloses his hope for the upcoming weeks at Fruita Middle school.
Rorey Reigles, a student at Fruita Middle School, also a student in Ms. Bohl’s GT (gifted and talented) ninth hour class. He explains his hope for the year, and how this class meets his learning targets.
When Rorey was asked about what he hopes to achieve while in GT, he said, “Advancing my skills further.” What Rorey wishes to get from this school year is experience, hoping he is able to advance his mind and skills.
Rorey was also asked about whether or not this class meets his needs, to which he answered too, “Yeah, cause I need it for my ALP (advance learning plan) goals.” Having a class that can meet the needs of advanced students can not only help progress students like Rorey, but also help the school as a whole. By having GT students, the school is able to better their test scores, giving them better data as a whole. Having a GT class allows advanced students to have an outlet for more challenging work.
The important insight Rorey Reigles provided about Ms. Bohl’s GT class gives us a better understanding for the advanced students at FMS.

I interviewed the 7th grade math teacher Mr. Carroll. I asked him questions and I got answers that no one would have expected.
I asked him why he liked the job and he said “I like the job because I like math and I like working with young people and getting them inspired to do the work each day.”
Did you ever think about what teachers wanted to be before they became a teacher? I did, so I asked him if he thought he would ever be a teacher when he was younger he said “I didn’t think I would be a teacher, I wanted to do pro baseball, but then I decided I wanted to be an architect, but never did I think I would be a teacher.
I asked him why he became a teacher and he said “When I was helping my parents raise my niece and nephew my wife said have you ever thought of becoming a teacher and I said no but I would gladly become one.”
These kids are the future so I asked him what advice he would give for the kids of FMS and he said, “Be imaginative, be willing to ask questions, and always be curious.” This was the interview of Mr. Carroll and his story.
