The Tiger Boutique and Haberdashery was created by a special group of students (the Agents of Change) from the class of 2022 with a simple purpose: to help the community and their fellow students. It is incredibly difficult for students to focus and learn in class if their basic needs are not met. The Boutique aims to meet the needs of students so that they can be successful in school. Any student can come to the Boutique to get what they need, free of charge, and with no questions asked. The space is designed to replicate a fun, welcoming shopping experience, complete with shopping bags, comfortable chairs, and changing rooms.

GJHS Tiger Cafe Intern Position Description
Toilet Equity is a local nonprofit bringing toilet access to people who don’t have it. We help gig workers, delivery drivers, repair workers, families, and unsheltered folks have a place to do their business when they’re out and about. We build our own compost toilets so that we can reduce our use of water and chemicals while turning what is typically a waste product into finished compost that can be used for soil remediation, weed suppression, and landscaping. When people don’t have a safe place to poop and pee, they’re forced to do it where it can pose an environmental and public health hazard to themselves and the community. We seek to reduce these risks by giving a S.H.I.T. (Sustainable, Healthy, Innovative Toilet).
