Check in with School Staff
Be sure to check in with your school's secretary to complete the required volunteer paperwork and get a quick overview of the school's volunteer procedures. Every school does things a little differently, so they'll help guide you through the process.

Do not come to school if you have had a fever greater than 100.4, vomiting, or diarrhea in the past 24 hours.
Return when your symptoms have improved or resolved and you feel well enough to participate in usual activities.
Contact your coordinator and classroom teachers as soon as possible so that a replacement can be found or the lesson can be rescheduled.

Talk with your school’s secretary or teachers to learn the safety protocols specific to your building.
Make sure you know the fire escape routes and what to do if there is a fire or drill during your lesson. It’s also important to understand your school’s lockdown procedures.
If you are in the classroom during a lockdown, follow the teacher’s directions.
If you are in a storeroom, workroom, or closet, close and lock the door.
If you are in the hallway, go into the nearest classroom or closet.
Once you are in a safe location, stay there and listen for instructions over the intercom.
