Become A Volunteer
Art Heritage volunteers are community members who share a love of art and creativity with students. Through the program, they help bring artists, art history, and hands-on art experiences into the classroom. By guiding discussions about famous works of art and helping students explore new techniques, volunteers inspire curiosity, creativity, and personal expression. Their time and enthusiasm help connect students to the wider world of art and make each lesson a memorable experience.
A unique opportunity to help in a child’s classroom!
Schedule the Lesson
You’ll work with the classroom teacher to schedule a time during the month to come in and teach the lesson, so you can choose a time that works for your schedule.
Teach the Lesson
Pick up the training materials box (all supplies are provided and stored at the school) and present the lesson at the scheduled time. The classroom teacher stays in the room to help with classroom management and passing out supplies.
Send Home or Display Artwork
You and the classroom teacher can decide whether students’ artwork goes home or is displayed in the school for everyone to enjoy.

Not sure you can commit to all six lessons? No problem! Many classrooms share the role between two volunteers, and grandparents or family members are welcome to help as well.
We will teach you everything you need to know. Students love seeing their parents and family members learning and creating right alongside them.
