FLEX stands for foreign language exploration or foreign language experience. The goal of the is to introduce students to different languages and cultures. Through this experience students develop an awareness of language relationships, like how are different languages similar and different. Such exploration is intended to develop a mindset that will help with deeper language study in the future such as at the middle school or high school. We have over 40 different languages spoken by families and students in the district as we see this as a great opportunity for them to share their languages with other students. This could also be an opportunity for students to learn sign language.
