7th Grade Math
This month, we will dive into understanding and using percents in everyday situations. Percents are everywhere—shopping discounts, sports statistics, test scores, and even tips at restaurants! The students will be creating their own taco truck business as the final project for the unit.
7th Grade Accelerated Math
The students will be wrapping up first quarter with their Percent Taco Truck Project. They will be applying what they learned about percent change, tax, tip, and simple interest to create a Taco Truck business. Accelerated students will then begin a new unit on integers, where they’ll explore positive and negative numbers in real-world situations. Students will learn how to add, subtract, multiply, and divide integers to build a strong foundation for algebra.

October 2025
We have just wrapped up our unit on Multi-step Equations and Equations in the Real World. Students completed a summative task on solving equations and creating a scarecrow. They learned that multistep equations are not so scary! Equations are used in the world of finance, programming, engineering, and everyday use. Students learned to write and solve equation in these areas of study. GO Cardunals! As a reminder, your student needs to have a TI-30XIIS Scientific Calculator daily for class. These can be purchased at Amazon, Walmart, Meijer, or Target.
8th Grade Honors Algebra
October 2025
In October, we will be exploring functions and their applications. Students will practice evaluating functions from equations, graphs, and tables, and work on function tasks to strengthen their understanding. We will also focus on domain and range, graph attributes, and graphing lines in both slope-intercept and standard form.
