In September, Dr. Wilson’s and Mrs. Rollins’ classes went on their first community trip to East Dundee. During this outing, students practiced pedestrian safety skills as they walked around the area and discussed various traffic signs they encountered. As a special treat, Mrs. Rollins’ class wrapped up their trip with a stop at Dairy Queen to enjoy some delicious ice cream! The next community trip is scheduled for October 6, when the classes will visit Tom’s Farm.

Meanwhile, Mrs. Zimmerman’s class took a virtual field trip to an apple orchard at the end of the month. They’ve also begun buddy reading, where general education students visit the classroom to read books aloud to their peers.

Across all three classrooms, students are continuing to work on building routines and learning procedures to help create a positive and supportive classroom environment.
