In December, 6th-grade students will be exploring various World Religions. Students will compare the different religions across the globe. Students will learn of the religion's origins, and their main beliefs, and identify key figures. The religions we will be exploring are Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Islam, and Judaism.
This month, our 7th grade students have transitioned from learning about the American Revolution to understanding the principals of the Constitution and will spend the beginning of December learning their rights as outlines in the Bill of Rights. Students will participate in classroom debates where they will become Supreme Court Justices and will decide the outcome of true challenges to the Constitution.
In 8th Grade Social Studies, we are reaching the end of our Lesson 21: World War I Unit. Students have learned about the causes that led to World War I, what the war front was like, as well as what we did as a nation to support the troops here at home. Students completed a War Technology Research Project and just finished the creation of their own Propaganda Posters! We have our Summative Test on Tuesday, December 10th and then finishing the year watching the film War Horse!
