6th Grade ELA
6th graders will be focusing on informational text in Quarter 2. We will discuss author's perspective and purpose, non-fiction text features, as well as research and create our very own infographic.
7th Grade ELA
7th Grade ELA
7th graders will finish reading The Giver by Lois Lowry. While students read the story, they kept track of how Jonas's perspective about his community changed throughout the novel. Students are now in the process of using their findings to complete their Quarter 2 writing summative.
Students in ELA will be creating holiday cards based on a lesson called "The Joy of Giving." These cards will be delivered to various retirement communities.
8th Grade ELA
8th Grade ELA
The 8th Grade will continue our Q2 unit that focuses on various components of argumentative writing, debates, and general arguments. The various activities students will be participating in are the following: deconstructing holiday advertisements, who dun it activities, debates, podcasts, etc.
Students are continuing to learn more academic vocabulary words that apply to other content areas.
