Congratulations to Annie, Mateo, Caleb, Xander, and Caz on your first invitation to be in the ILMEA District 9 Honor Band.  MEGA Congratulations to Hannah and Parker on your SECOND invitation to be in the ILMEA District 9 Honor Band.  Overall, DMS has one of the largest representations in the ensemble across the western suburbs.  Way to go CARDUNALS!

Our Holiday concert is on December 16th at 7:00pm in the Main Gym. Students should arrive by 6:30pm. 

The Wizard of Oz Auditions take place Wed 12/3 & Mon 12/8. Please remind your child to sign up for an audition slot. Audition forms should be signed and brought in on the day of their audition.

Bella Voce and Valiant Voices will travel to the Dundee Township Senior Center for a holiday performance and bingo on Friday 12/5. 

Please make sure your child has their red music polo ready to go for our holiday concert. All students except for those in Bella Voce & Valiant Voices will wear the red polo.

7th and 8th grade students should have all logged into Sightreading Factory to create a student account by now. The student code is zzbzph. All assignments are due by Friday December 5th. 

Wonderful job to our 6th, 7th, & 8th grade orchestras for their first DMS concert of the year! Thank you all for your support! Our Winter concert is on March 5th, 2026, with our Spring concerts following on May 13th, 2026. We hope to see you there!

The D300 Solo Ensemble and Piano Festival is right around the corner! The festival will be held at Westfield Community School on Saturday, February 21st, 2026. While this event is optional, it is highly recommended for all music students! Students can choose to sign up for a solo, an ensemble, or both. Fill out the Google Form on Schoology to register. Please complete this ASAP so that the orchestra teachers can help students select music to work on over winter break. Registration is open now. This is a wonderful opportunity for students to achieve great strides in their musicianship! 

Reminder: Please ask your students about their orchestra materials. 6th grade students need to have their orchestra books from last year, Essential Elements for Strings Book 1. The 7th and 8th grade students need new method books for class as well as the books from last year. 7th grade orchestra students need Essential Elements Books 1 & 2 for their specific instrument. 8th grade students need Essential Elements Book 2 & Essential Technique Book 3 for their specific instrument.
