The earth’s gravitational field has picked up a second “moon,” named “2024 PT5.” This tiny asteroid was hooked by our planet on September 29th and is planned to exit on November 25th. By the time this edition releases, the rock should still be in the earth’s pull. How did earth pick up a second moon? Tiny asteroids fly by our sun frequently and sometimes get hooked on earth’s pull. Asteroids like these don’t do any harm to the solar system thankfully, the only thing these loose rocks do is provide entertainment. You may not see the asteroid with the naked eye as it is too small, but it’s a fun thing to think about and research.
Fall Festival
By: Samantha Morler and Avery Lugo
Fall Festival is a big school event that is hosted in Dundee Middle School till 5:15 pm. You do a bunch of fun things, such as a DJ, games, and snacks. It's free to stay, but the snacks cost money. You stay after school and hang out with your friends, or maybe yourself. There is also a bouncy house! You then have an option to get a temporary tattoo either on your arm or hand, So Cool! 100% recommended. So many people attend, so thank you and if you didn’t go this year you are definitely going to want to go next year. Thank you teachers and volunteers for this wonderful time.
The living pink ribbon was super fun! We all loved seeing friends and classmates wearing all the different pink colors we saw! We were surprised by all of the people who participated. I think that the Living Pink Ribbon was awesome!
As a 6th grader writing this, this was our very first Living Pink Ribbon and I thought it was so cool. I am definitely looking forward to next year's Living Pink Ribbon. We didn't have this kind of stuff in 5th grade!
And if you didn’t wear pink this year's Living Pink Ribbon, It's alright! You can participate in next year, unless you are an 8th grader.
