April 2025
After Spring Break we will begin our short unity on Earth's Spheres followed by the Water Cycle. These units go together as the Earth's spheres (water, land, atmosphere, life) interact.
7th Grade
Our last unit this year will be Albino Squirrels It is about trait inheritance and mutations in genetics. We will learn how traits are passed on in a population.
Over Spring Break would be a good time to check supplies for the end of the year. Many students are not bringing essentials such as pencils to class on a daily bases. If you are able to, donations of Kleenex would be appreciated as we move into allergy season. All of our classrooms have used up our boxes from the start of the year.

January
Eighth grade students will be using the Science and Engineering Practices to learn about waves and their applications in technology. We will look at a wireless speaker system to figure out the role that mechanical and electromagnetic waves play in how it works. We will examine the relationship between a sound wave's amplitude, frequency, and wavelength and how something sounds. We will also investigate different types of electromagnetic radiation and how it can be helpful or harmful.
