Grade Level - Upon returning from spring break with seven weeks remaining in 4th quarter, students will be working to complete Module 9, Solving Problems Using Equations and Inequalities. Students will explore inverse operations and how to use them to solve problems involving variables.
Accelerated Math - Modules 12 & 13: Perimeter, Area, Surface Area & Volume. Students will find the perimeter, area and surface area of triangles and special quadrilaterals. Students will end the module by being able to find the volume of rectangular prisms.
7th Grade Math
After the students return from spring break, we will be wrapping up our unit on circles. Next, we will begin our unit on volume and surface area of right prisms. Students will use formulas to calculate volume and surface area of rectangular and triangular prisms.
7th Grade Accelerated Math
The students will be finishing the Pythagorean Theorem Unit when they return from spring break. The accelerated classes will then be learning about volume and surface area of right prisms.
8th Grade Algebra 1A
April 2025: Module 11
We have just finished studying Systems of Equations in the real-world. Students analyzed and compared systems and applied them to their daily lives to determine which companies are most cost effective. We are now finding missing side lengths in a right triangle by using Pythagorean Theorem. Jobs that require practical uses in the real world using Pythagorean Theorem are: construction workers, architecture, navigation, surveying, and even some aspects of engineering and sports.
8th Grade Honors Algebra
We have just finished graphing quadratic equations. We will soon be connecting the graphs of quadratics with factoring and introducing the Quadratic Formula!
6th Graders have been Eagle Watching: Duffey
During the past 3 weeks the 6th grades have been able to watch the progress of Jackie, Shadow and their chicks. We even related it to scale when we discovered how large an actual eagle's nest is.
