DISTRICT 25 CIVICS FOR ALL

Our goal in District 25 is to provide all students with the opportunity and safe space to speak their voice and engage in civic empowerment. We are proud to say that our 34 schools, elementary and middle school, participate in Civics for All. Throughout the school year, students participate in special events such as Soapbox Speeches, the American Debate League, community service, and learn how to create change as active participants of their community. We especially look forward to Civics Week, where students engage with local elected officials, kick off their Take Action projects, Participatory Budgeting projects, and share their learning about local and world issues. We are so proud of our District 25 students for finding their voices to affect change and having an impact on their community!

AMERICAN DEBATE LEAGUE

We are so excited to partner with the American Debate League each year to provide our students with the opportunity to participate in debate tournaments and research current issues. Thank you to Councilmember Vickie Paladino for sponsoring our 2022-2023 and 2023-2024 District 25 Debate Leagues!

This school year,  we hosted our District 25 Debate League Winter Classic on February 27th! We are so proud of all our students who participated from the following schools: Q079, Q184, Q032, Q025, Q294, Q185, Q194 and Q237. Congratulations to all of our debate teams and individual speakers for winning an award! We are looking forward to seeing our debaters again in action at our District 25 Debate League Championship in May, 2024.
