The private teaching program at NNHS is designed to enhance students' vocal experience. Having an opportunity to work with a private instructor gives students a chance to develop vocal production and solve vocal problems that may not be readily apparent in a large choral rehearsal. In voice lessons, our teachers focus on concepts such as breathing, vocal production, musicality, repertoire, level-appropriate music theory, and can also help with preparation for ILMEA auditions/festivals, as well as Recitals and IHSA Solo & Ensemble contest.
We have three private voice teachers that teach at NNHS throughout the week. Lessons can be scheduled during free periods, lunch periods, or choir periods, depending on what is best for both the student and teacher. Please see below for bios of each of our private teachers, so you can get to know them a little better! Lessons are $36 per week. Please see the Choir Handbook for more information about voice lessons.
The Voice Lesson Application can be accessed here.
