Vocal Jazz Auditions

Here is the information for this year's Vocal Jazz Ensemble auditions, which will take place on August 29 and 30, 2024. All interested students in the NNHS choir program, as well as in the Band, Orchestra, Electronic Music, Guitar, and Keyboard programs are welcome to audition. Being a member of these ensembles is an excellent way to meet members of other choirs, sing a variety of Contemporary Commerical Music from the 20th and 21st centuries, and challenge yourself to become a stronger musician and make your voice more versatile!

The audition consists of learning some excerpts of music (part tracks and accompaniment tracks are provided!), as well as doing a little bit of vocal improvisation. If you're nervous because you haven't done this before, consider coming to one of the vocal jazz audition workshops! In these workshops, we'll go over the music, talk about vocal jazz style, and do some improvisation exercises. These workshops will be held on:
