I am really excited about another year teaching at the Governor’s School. I will be teaching Precalculus and Calculus I for juniors. I will also be teaching the senior tech labs, Scientific Photography and Technology in Sewing.
I was born in the Berkshire Mountains of Massachusetts and was raised in South Jersey. I spent my summers at the beach, the Chesapeake Bay and the pool and the winters going skiing as often as possible. I went to Virginia Tech for both my undergraduate and graduate degrees, majoring in Mathematics and Education. I raced on the Virginia Tech Ski Team in the Giant Slalom and Slalom events and enjoyed going to all the football games. I moved to Lynchburg after college and taught at Heritage High School before moving to the Governor's School. I have completed graduate math courses at Lynchburg College, and I earned my PhD from Virginia Tech in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus in Integrative STEM Education.
In my free time I like to spend time with my family, mainly outdoors. I have three daughters, Matilda, Amelia, and Eliza. My husband, Miles, works in the landscaping industry. We also have a Great Dane, Mae. We love to kayak, canoe, hike, bike ride, or just enjoy the fresh air in our back yard.
