ALL assignments are due at a designated time DURING CLASS! Assignments are never due after class, at night, during the weekend, during a break, etc.
Grades are based on a semester system. Each semester is treated independently, so one semester’s grade does not affect the other. You will receive separate academic credit for each semester.
Each semester is divided into units, each with its own weight. Your overall grade is the average of unit scores—for example, 70% on one unit and 90% on another averages 80%. Passing each unit is considered necessary to pass the semester.
Each unit includes graded items such as independent work, exams, guided practice, and other assessments. Each item has an assigned point value, which may not match the number of questions. Your unit grade is calculated by averaging the points from all items to determine your overall percentage.

A variety of commonly graded components used in this class are listed here for your reference.
Exams - These generally have many more points than other components.
Quizzes - Quizzes cannot be redone.
Projects - These will be announced as they come up.
Guided Practice: These assignments are done in class with the teacher’s guidance and include activities like problem-solving, group work, quick responses, and note-taking. Attendance is required to participate.
Independent Work: Independent work assignments are usually started in class and should be completed diligently. Any work not finished in class must be completed at home as homework.
Cheating in any form—copying, plagiarism, forgery, falsifying data, or misusing materials—is strictly prohibited. Students caught cheating will receive a zero on the assignment and related work, and administration will be notified for disciplinary action.
Students must complete their own work. Collaboration is allowed, but copying another student’s work is not. If cheating is suspected, both students must explain their solutions. Failure to do so will be considered cheating. Maintain honesty and take responsibility for all assignments and assessments.
