4 Year College Admission requirements known as "A-G" Requirements
Students must earn a C- or better in below classes.
A: History/Social Science:
Two years of history, including:
one year of world or European history, cultures and geography (may be a single yearlong course or two one-semester courses), and
one year of US History or one-half year of US History and one half-year of civics or American Government
B: English: 4 college prep courses required. No more than one year of ESL-type courses can be used to meet this requirement.
C: Mathematics: 3 courses required, 4 courses recommended: Integrated Math 1, Integrated Math 2 and Integrated Math 3 at minimum.
D: Laboratory Science: Two years of college-preparatory science, including or integrating topics that provide fundamental knowledge in two of these three subject areas: biology, chemistry, or physics. Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Science courses can be used in area D as an additional science (i.e., third year and beyond).
E: Foreign Language: 2 courses are required, 3 are recommended. At least two years in the same language. (Courses taken in the 7th and 8th grades may be used to fulfill part or all of this requirement.)
F: Visual and Performing Arts: One yearlong course of visual and performing arts chosen from the following disciplines: music, theater, visual arts -- or two one-semester courses from the same discipline is also acceptable.
G: College Preparatory Elective: an additional class in one of the above subject areas or other classes on approved list.
