Interested in ROP?
More info can be found on the Eden ROP website
Will I get the classes that I write on the course selection sheet and enter in Course Requests on Aeries? The course selection process is a request for classes NOT a guarantee. Students will be scheduled into alternative options, if the first choice becomes unavailable, or if they do not meet prerequisites.
Why do I need to choose alternative class selections? There may be more students who sign up for a class than can take it, in which case a student may be placed in their alternative choice. Students should be thoughtful when making alternative selections.
How can I be a Teacher’s Assistant (TA)?
Only 11th and 12th graders can request School Service as an elective. Students will be assigned a teacher or house office unless a teacher requests a specific student.
School Mentor, Library Assistant, and AVID tutor are also available for those interested as an alternative to TA.
How many classes do I have to take?
9th, 10th, and 11th graders must take at least 6 classes.
12th graders who are meeting graduation requirements may request to take 5 classes. Students will indicate a request for a no first or no sixth period class on the Course Selection Sheet (not guaranteed)
What if I want to take a 0-period class?
9th and 10th grade students who are in a pathway, band, choir, leadership, yearbook, support class AND are taking a World Language class may request to have a 0 period.
0 period space is limited and it is NOT a guarantee that all eligible students will have a 0 period. For all students, some classes are only offered DURING 0 period, such as Vocal Ensemble, Orchestra, Journalism, Marketing Economics, and Yearbook. (Please note: class offerings during 0 period are subject to change without notice.)
Can I make a teacher request or request classes in specific periods?
No, we are not able to accommodate any preference requests, including requests for teachers or classes in specific periods.
