Take a moment to send me an email with your name and your child's name. This will help me get to know you and quickly have your email in my contacts.
Please fill out and return the blue student information form by the end of this week.

Star of the Week
Each student has a turn to be our Star of the Week! Please check the schedule below and make a note of your student's assigned week. If there is a scheduling conflict please email to let me know. A week prior to your child’s assigned date, they'll get a a Star of the Week poster to decorate. Monday of their special week they will present their poster.
Snacks
Our 10:00 a.m. recess is snack recess. Students are hungry at this time and need nutrition to help them continue to learn throughout the day. Please provide your child with a healthy mid-morning snack with their name on it. They can also visit the cafeteria for a snack at our Second Chance Breakfast.
Birthdays
We celebrate in class with a special birthday song, pencil, and sticker. Please note the district Health and Wellness policy states that we can only have one non-healthy treat per month, so we reserve those for classroom celebrations. No food items will be passed out during or after school for birthday celebrations. If you would like to pass out a goody bag with non-food items such as pencils, erasers, stickers, etc. for your child's birthday that is fine. Please make sure you provide one for each student.
Please do not pass out invitations at school, unless you are inviting the entire class.
Library & PE
Every Thursday we go to the library where students will check out one to two books. Books are to be returned on Wednesdays.
PE is on Mondays and Wednesdays. Students should wear comfortable shoes on those days.
Absences & Tardies
The tardy bell rings at 8:10. Please remember that tardies affect the whole class, not just your child. If your student is ill or needs to miss school for a personal reason, please call the office and report the absence. Class assignments from the day of absence may be sent home with the student to complete at home. There are many things we do in class that are difficult to do at home, so please keep absences to a minimum. However, if your child is ill or has a fever please keep them home. If your child is gone 5 days or more, you will need to get an Independent Study form from the office. Please give me two weeks’ notice, if possible.
Report Cards, Progress Reports & Conferences
Three report cards are issued during the year, for Trimester 1, 2, and 3. Students who are struggling to or not meeting grade level benchmarks in any area will receive a progress report. Progress reports are sent home 6 weeks prior to report cards for any concerns that quarter.
Parent Conferences will be held in September for all families. A sign up link will be sent out shortly after Back to School Night. Spring conferences are held in March for students not meeting grade level standards. I will contact you throughout the year if there are concerns I feel we should discuss.
Volunteers
If you are able to help in the classroom, please sign up! If you are unable to make a schedule time please let me know in advance so that I may adjust our plans accordingly. All volunteers are required each year to fill out a Megan’s Law form before being allowed in the classroom or on field trips.
