About the teacher:

My name is Carolyn Paxman. This is my 6th year teaching 2nd grade at Proctor School and my 12th year teaching in CVUSD. I was born and raised in Castro Valley and graduated from California State University, Hayward with a B.A in Liberal Studies and a Minor in Early Childhood Development.

My goal is to provide a positive learning experience for your child. I strive to provide a classroom community in which students feel safe and secure to make mistakes, share their ideas, and challenge themselves to try new things that maybe they thought they couldn't do before. Throughout this school year, I will work with my students and their families to promote each child’s ability to work independently and develop a sense of responsibility for their actions. All students will be encouraged to work cooperatively in groups and individually. My goal is to provide effective instruction for various levels of achievement, ability and learning styles.
