Types of cast for Treasure Island
Character Cast
Every student auditioning will get a character part.
Zoom Audition required
Please see the Auditions section (Under "Home") for dates and audition details.
Prop & Sound Effects Cast
Students will hold or activate basic props (to be supplied) and/or learn sound effects to enhance the settings and sound within scenes.
No audition required.
Movement Cast
As a group students will learn choreographed moves (not dance).
No audition required.
Chabot Drama Club Time Commitment
Being part of the Chabot Drama Club requires you to be committed to attending scheduled rehearsals and performances.
From January to April, rehearsal schedules will be sent home every 2-3 weeks. The schedules are based on scenes or choreography in the production and are not necessarily rehearsed in sequential order. Schedules will list Cast characters/groups and the day(s) scheduled.
Please think about your child and family commitments to sports (including the start-up of Softball and Baseball in the spring), after-school commitments (Dance, Martial Arts, Performing Arts, After School clubs, etc), and family vacations.
Being a member of the Chabot Drama Club means attending the full amount of the rehearsal or performance.
Drama Club members are required to attend ALL rehearsals that they are scheduled for. The only reason a student may miss a rehearsal is due to illness or an emergency situation. Students are not penalised for being absent due to illness.
Anyone missing more than three scheduled rehearsals will be in danger of losing their role in the production.
