Notes for testing days May 6 to 16:
Report to the rooms listed promptly at the specified time. If you arrive late, you may not be able to test. Check-in for Horsley is at the southwest door (near boy’s locker room).
All morning exams—you must report at 7:20 a.m.
All afternoon exams—you must arrive at the beginning of 6th period (11:43)
You are guaranteed 20 minutes for lunch—if your exam occurs during your lunch period, you may eat either before the test (during 5B) or immediately after the morning exam. If you are taking both a morning and afternoon exam, please go to lunch after your morning exam and then report to your afternoon exam at the scheduled time. If the first exam runs long, please take 20 minutes for lunch—the next exam will begin when you are done eating.
Afternoon exams will run longer than 2:15—many until 3:30 or 4. You are responsible for your own transportation home.
If you have been approved for testing accommodations, report to the Counseling Center (CC) on the day of your exam and you will be directed to your testing room.
You should bring the following items to the exam room:
Several sharpened No. 2 pencils (with erasers)—required.
Pens with black or dark blue ink—required.
A regular watch (no wifi or internet) in case your exam room does not have a clock that you can see easily.
Up to two calculators with the necessary capabilities if you are taking an AP Calculus, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or Statistics Exam. Visit www.collegeboard.com/ap/calculators to learn more about the calculator policy for each of these exams and for a list of authorized calculators.
A ruler or straightedge only if you are taking an AP Physics Exam (protractors are not allowed.)
NO CELL PHONES, SMARTWATCHES, OR ELECTRONIC DEVICES are allowed in the exam room. If you bring an electronic device with you, you will be asked to take it to your locker. If you bring it to the exam room and are seen looking at it—even during a break, you will be dismissed from the exam and your test will be canceled. BACKPACKS are also NOT allowed in the exam room. Please place in your locker before the listed report time for your exam. Your locker information is available in StudentVue under the Student Info tab.
If you are absent for an exam, you must contact Mr. Kosky in the CC within 24 hours of the missed test—parents may also make contact on your behalf, email to michael.kosky@cusd200.org. Reasons for late testing are limited by the College Board and must be approved, so it is vital that you make contact in a timely fashion. If you do not contact Mr. Kosky, you will not be able to test late.
Get a good night’s rest before your exam and eat a nutritious breakfast. You are allowed to bring a snack and beverage for your 10-minute break. However, food and drink are prohibited in the exam area. It is advisable to bring a sweater/sweatshirt in case the room temperature is below your comfort level.
STUDENTS ARE ONLY EXCUSED FROM CLASSES FOR THE TIME PERIOD OF THE TEST. ANYONE LEAVING THE BUILDING BEFORE OR AFTER A TEST MUST FOLLOW ATTENDANCE PROCEDURES AND BE EXCUSED BY PARENTS/GUARDIANS. FAILURE TO DO SO WILL RESULT IN DISCIPLINARY CONSEQUENCES.
If you decide not to take an exam, please let the Counseling Center Secretary or Ms. Mieure know so we may take you off the roster and are not waiting for you the day of the test. The date to receive a refund has passed.

AP Resources, Join Codes, and College Board Accounts
Welcome to your AP class! You will need to join each AP class you are in using a Join Code provided to you by your teacher. You will be able to access online resources for each AP class. There is a unique join code for each section. Please join asap to have resources available to you. Also, during the AP exam registration period in October (more info later!) you will need to indicate yes/no to taking the exam. Already being logged into your class will make this an easier process.
START NOW!! Please join as soon as your teacher gives you the Join Code.
COLLEGE BOARD ACCOUNT: Existing Some of you already have a College Board Account since you took a PSAT, SAT, or AP in the past. You need to log into that account as that is your College Board account going forward every year. This is also where you will access the new AP resources and sign up to take the exam this year. You will no longer get a new AP number each year. We, in the CC, do NOT have account info. Many parents have been known to make the account for you as they were anxious to see your past test results. Make sure you check with them. If you still can’t log on to your existing account, you will need to contact College Board directly:
Email: apstudents@info.collegeboard.org
Phone: 888.225.5427
COLLEGE BOARD ACCOUNT: New If you don’t already have an account go to New College Board Account. Please use your full legal name.
ALL ACCOUNTS Make sure to use your personal email on this account--change it under settings if you already have an account and used your school email address. You may need to access accounts after you graduate from South and if you use the school address you won’t have access.
JOIN UP Once you have your College Board account ready, log into myAP to join your class. Create an account once, but use the separate join code for each class if you are taking more than one AP course.

SECOND SEMESTER ONLY CLASSES,
Click here for info regarding AP Exam Registration and Payment for 2nd Semester Only AP courses.
Rationale for AP Exams
Taking the Advanced Placement exam is an important part of all AP courses. WWS strongly encourages students currently in an AP course to take the corresponding AP exam. Scoring well on an AP Exam may earn students college credit—students should confirm the AP credit policies with their college of choice. Check the WWS Counseling Website AP Resources for updates and information throughout the school year.
Two-Part Process
Online registration for year-long and first semester only classes will begin Monday, October 9, and will close on Friday, October 27. The cost is $105 per exam. Second semester only classes will have a separate sign-up in February.
Step 1, all students who have joined myAP will be defaulted to “Yes” for ordering the exam. nly sign up to pay for year-long or first semester courses at this time.
Step 2, go to www.TotalRegistration.net/AP/144380 (also on website). All payments must be made online with a credit or debit card or by mailing your payment to Total Registration. We will NOT accept payment at South.
Other important notes:
Students who receive free/reduced lunch will have the AP fee waived—but you must sign up online on both your AP page and Total Registration and answer yes to the free/reduced question on TR. You will be approved off the waitlist after your waiver status has been verified.
NO LATE REGISTRATION WILL BE ACCEPTED
To complete registration on Total Registration, students must answer all the required questions. Registration is not complete until you have received a confirmation page; please print a copy of this page for your records. It is suggested that parents and students both be present while registering to ensure that the correct exams are chosen. If a student decides not to test, a refund of $50 per exam will be given if you notify Ms. Mieure (Jan.Mieure@cusd200.org) in the Counseling Center by March 1, at 2:30 p.m.
Questions? See Ms. Mieure in the CC.
