Ensembles

The Wheaton Warrenville South High School Band Program involves over 90 students in three Concert Ensembles and Percussion Ensemble, open to all 9th-12th graders by audition. Each year, multiple band members are selected for the Illinois Music Educators Association (ILMEA) District 9 Honor Band and Orchestra, All-State Band and Orchestra, and various other community performance ensembles.

All three concert ensembles and the Percussion Ensemble meet as a class daily and perform a minimum of three formal concerts along with several festivals per year. Weekly private lessons are offered to all students in the program during the day or after school from professional musicians, while also working with some of the nation’s most prominent clinicians and guest conductors. All three ensembles have the opportunity to collaborate with the WWS orchestras as well. In December 2022, the Wheaton Warrenville South High School Wind Ensemble will perform at the 76th annual Midwest International Band & Orchestra Clinic in Chicago.

All students also have the opportunity to participate in numerous extracurricular performance ensembles, such as the award-winning Tiger Marching Band, Jazz Ensembles, Basketball Pep Band, Musical Pit Orchestra, and Show Band. Please use the dropdown menu above to learn more about each ensemble.
