Spanish - French - Mandarin. - Most incoming freshmen will take level 1 of one of the above languages. This year we piloted a new online textbook entitled Voces, which is based on the Comprehensible Input method of learning languages. This theory emphasizes listening, reading, and "acquiring" the language, as opposed to the traditional way of learning language through grammar. We have found that more students have success with the Comprehensible Input method.
