HOW TO APPLY
Students must create an account through OpenCCCApply, obtain a California Community College ID number, use that ID to complete a West Valley College application and obtain a West Valley College ID number (this is an important number that you must hold on to), and complete the online Dual Enrollment Application. That application will be sent to your high school counselor who will network with West Valley College’s admissions office. If you have enrolled in one of our courses before, you MUST apply again for this upcoming term.
Complete an online application at www.westvalley.edu/admissions/apply.html. (Students who were in the DE program in a previous term are required to complete a new application). Here you will create an OpenCCCApply account. You will receive a CCC ID# (ex: AF861972) via email; this is not your West Valley College ID#. Your CCC ID# will give you access to the online application.
Using your CCC ID#, log into OpenCCCApply through the Apply Now link and complete the West Valley College Application.
Within 5 minutes – 2 hours you will receive your West Valley College ID# (ex: G08100081) via email. Save this number in a place you can easily access it. You will need this number moving forward. Email the WVC Admissions Office if you do not receive your ID number, wvc.admissions@westvalley.edu. Include your name, confirmation number, and birthdate.
Click on the link in the email titled, Dual Enrollment | West Valley College to access the Dual Enrollment Application. The application will be sent to Branham's School Counselor, Isabel Magaña.
Once you have applied, your application will be sent to the DE lead at the different CUHSD sites:
Boynton High School: Janel Holguin
Braham High School: Isabel Magana
Del Mar High School: Kristie Geist
Leigh High School: Amy Bencomo
Prospect High School: Shawnee Beeson
Westmont High School: Cristian Moreno
**Completing all of the steps above does NOT guarantee you a spot in your Dual Enrollment Course. Courses fill up quickly. Your patience throughout the entire process is appreciated.**
If you have an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) or a 504 plan at WHS, it is your responsibility to complete the additional steps with the West Valley College Disability and Educational Support Program (DESP). They will determine reasonable accommodations for their college courses.
Complete the online registration.
Upload documentation of disability (e.g., IEP, 504 plan or physician's verification).
Make an appointment with a DESP counselor to complete program registration by calling 408-741-2010.
Request approved accommodations for your course.
If you and your instructor agree that you will take your exams in the DESP Test Center, schedule your test.
COURSE OFFERINGS
Summer 2025 courses will be offered solely online either synchronous or asynchronous. Some courses for Fall 2025 will be offered in person at the high school campus, as indicated in the table below. Other courses are offered synchronously online (i.e. with scheduled days and times). Students can enroll in classes not offered at their home campus, but need to ensure they can arrange travel to that campus and arrive on time. Classes offered vary depending on the semester and year.
Please attend the Zoom Info Session that will take place on Wednesday May 7th at 4:00 PM with the link CUSHD Info Session for additional information.
