Queen Isabella I Statue

The Queen Isabella staute stands outside of the Organization of American States (OAS) at 200 17th St NW, within a few blocks of the Washington monument. Queen Isabella may be best known as the patroness of Christopher Columbus, but she was an effective monarch in her own right. Queen Isabella's statue stands as tribute to a powerful leader who was also a woman, and whose actions led the way to European exploration across the Atlantic.
