A few things about Me.....

What kind of art do you make?

I like to work with a variety of different art media and techniques, although printmaking and photography are favorites. I love the unexpected outcomes you get when you work with collagraph printing. And when it comes to photography, I personally don't like to rely on filters and apps to overwork my photos.

I keep a number of sketchbooks going at once, using collage, paint sticks, colored pencils and marker. I have two entries in the Sketchbook Art Library in Brooklyn, NY.  I enjoyed the process but I am not sure if I will participate again.

Do I participate in shows or sell my art?

I don't currently have anything for sale, and I have participated in a Northeastern CT Art Guild show. A goal I am working on is to be more active with my personal art.

What else should we know about you?

I like to go to art museums and look at art, I think it's really fun and inspiring! I like to travel, although I haven't done much traveling lately. I have been to 37 States, Canada, Ireland and Australia. I also like to visit Roadside Attractions, those quirky places found all over the country. An Orange Show? Yup, went there! Beer Can House, you say? Seen it. America's Stonehenge? Yup, been there too! Those places just make road trips more memorable. I also like to go to Fairs and eat fried dough, look at animals, and listen to music.

I live in Canterbury, I moved here as an adult, however, I do enjoy the perks of living in a rural community. You know, getting stuck behind a large tractor; neighbor's large pigs getting loose and running around my yard; stopping in the middle of Rt. 14 because there is a longhorn steer as large as my Mini standing in the middle of it stopping traffic; rabbits, skunks, and racoons stopping by; shopping at local farm stands; volunteering at local museums; and being involved with community organizations. I am a member of of the Canterbury Lions Club and currently serving as a Zone Chair for CT Lions District 23C.
