Juniors are required to read one (1) book to fulfill the summer reading requirement. Honors students must read two (2) books. Summer Reading assignments/projects are due on Friday, August 30, 2019 and can be handed in to your child’s English teacher. Summer Reading is 5% of each student’s English grade for the 1^st Marking Period. Below are the titles of books from which they may choose:

Fiction:

Paper Towns by John Green

The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald

Divergent by Veronica Roth

Nonfiction:

The Other Wes Moore by Wes Moore

The Freedom Writers Diary: How a Teacher and 150 Teens Used Writing to Change Themselves and the World Around Them by The Freedom Writers with Erin Gruwell

Students MUST complete one of the following summer reading assessments:
