Incoming freshmen are required to read one (1) book to fulfill the summer reading requirement. Summer Reading assignments/projects are due on Friday, August 30, 2019 and can be handed in to your child’s English teacher. Summer Reading is 5% of each student’s English grade for the 1^st Marking Period. Below are the titles of books from which they may choose:

Fiction:

The Maze Runner by James Dashner

The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan

Nonfiction:

Night by Elie Wiesel

A Child Called It: One Child’s Courage to Survive by Dave Pelzer

Students MUST complete one of the following summer reading assessments:

1. Guided Reading Assessment

2. Poetry Project

3. Movie Poster Project

4. Current Events Project (Google Slide Presentation Project)
