Faculty Learning Communities 2018-19
The Fall FLC Kick Off is October 26 from 12-2. FLC members, applicants, and prospective applicants are all invited to lunch with the Faculty in Residence and one another to learn about this year's FLCs. We'll be in MPRB. Please RSVP so that we order enough food!
Faculty Learning Communities (FLCs) bring together groups of faculty from across disciplines to discuss pedagogical and or scholarly topics, to collaborate and to develop strategies for enhancing teaching and learning and to grow as teacher-scholars. During sessions facilitated by Faculty in Residence, FLC fellows explore ways to create environments that challenge, excite, and inspire a passion for learning among ourselves and our students. In the process, we foster a supportive community of reflective teachers and scholars.
FLC fellows are required to attend scheduled meetings, typically equivalent to roughly four (4) hours per month during the academic year (dates and times for each FLC are included in individual descriptions) and to attend the Spring Celebration of Teaching.
To apply: Please send a brief cover letter with expression of interest and possible project you might pursue in your FLC and a c.v. both attached as pdfs to fac_dev@csueastbay.edu. Kindly apply by Friday, November 2, 2018. (The FLC Kick Off is before the deadline to help encourage interest and participation. You are invited to apply ahead of time. In fact, it will be appreciated!)
Compensation for FLC Fellows is $1000.00.
